The conference provides a forum for the exchange of scientific ideas and technological advances in every aspect of liquid crystals. The conference program will consist of plenary, invited and contributed talks, and poster presentations.
The first International Liquid Crystal Conference (ILCC), which attracted about 50 scientists, was organized by Professor Glenn. H. Brown at Kent State University in 1965. It has since been held in ten countries and meets on biannual basis with an increasing number of presentations and participants. The 16th International Liquid Crystal Conference returns to its birth place after 20 years. It will be held at Kent State Student Center and organized by the Department of Physics and Chemistry and the Liquid Crystal Institute of Kent State University. The number of presentations at the 16th ILCC is expected to be nearly 900.
The conference organizers wish to thank our sponsors. Their generous donations made it possible to keep the registration fees low and to provide fee waivers to scientists from financially disadvantaged countries.
